Power Video Converter is a video converter for Windows. This advanced converter allows you to convert all your AVI, Divx, xvid, MPEG1, MPEG2, ASF, WMV, VOB, and DAT files among each other. Power Video Converter boasts an easy-to-use graphical user interface which really makes it easy to convert files. The processing speed is really fast and I didn't encounter any problems while converting a simple .AVI file to WMV. This application has some really nice features that add a little value to it. In my opinion, to be able to select parts of a file to convert instead of converting only full files is a great addition, since it saves me from having to use a video editor to cut files after I convert them. Power Video Converter also allows you to rip audio from video files and save it to .WAV or MP3 files, a feature that is really useful when you want to extract songs from video clips. You can also split and merge files and there is even a nice DVD backup function, which allows you to download all the .VOB files of a DVD to a hard drive.
